Survey on Draft Youth Charter for Somalia

UNDP is currently supporting young people in Somalia to develop a Youth Charter, which will serve as one voice for the youth of Somaliland, Puntland and South Central Somalia, bringing to light concerns and issues they believe need to be addressed to empower them socially, economically and politically. This will enable them to serve as a positive driving force, advancing overall human development wherever they are.

The Youth Charter is built on priorities that emerged through consultations, interviews, a survey and focus group discussions with youth and other stakeholders on the upcoming Somalia Human Development Report 2011, which focuses on Empowering Youth for Peace and Development.

Kindly help us by answering the following questions. Your responses will assist us in improving the Youth Charter, ensuring it represents your views, as well as in developing a communication strategy to deliver the right messages to appropriate recipients. This will also help us to follow up on actions outlined in the report/Youth Charter.

You may access the draft version of the Youth Charter here to be able to answer the questions: http://www.so.undp.org/index.php/Support-towards-reaching-the-MDGs.html

Kindly send your responses by 21 November 2011. Thank you
